ABOUT US

The Perfectly Flawed Foundation is a grassroots 501(c)3 community-based harm reduction and recovery community organization that provides services and support to individuals and families in North Central Illinois related to substance use, mental health and addiction. The Perfectly Flawed Foundation was founded and is led by a former IV drug user to reduce stigma and shift the way we view and treat people who use drugs or have struggles with mental health or addiction.

The Perfectly Flawed Foundation defines recovery as “the process of change through which individuals improve their health and wellness, live a self-directed life and strive to reach their fullest potential”.

The Perfectly Flawed supports multiple pathways to recovery and believes it should be up to the individual to decide their path to health and happiness.  We believe that abstinence, reduced-use, medications, moderation management and harm reduction are all valid forms of recovery for those that wish to change their substance use.

Through our community walk-in center and mobile support vehicle, our staff

works to empower individuals to take control of their lives and assist them to

successfully make positive lifestyle changes as defined by the individual.

Our peer support team helps people navigate their basic needs and treatment needs. This includes transportation, housing, food, and employment assistance.

We offer linkage to care, overdose prevention, family support, community education and trainings, naloxone distribution, harm reduction and mobile support services.

We operate a non-crisis supports text line, 815-830-8675 during normal business hours which is also monitored after hours and weekends. We are currently able to offer our services at no-cost with the support of community supporters, individual

donations and grant-assistance.
