ABOUT US

The Perfectly Flawed Foundation is a 501(c)3 non-profit, community-based organization specializing on harm reduction, overdose prevention and peer support, serving individuals and families in rural North Central Illinois impacted by substance use. We are located 100 miles SW of Chicago.

Founded and led by a former IV drug user, Perfectly Flawed is dedicated to challenging stigma and transforming the way society views and treats people who use drugs or have substance use disorders. We recognize that stigma kills, preventing people from seeking help. Our mission is to empower people  to make positive changes on their own terms with compassion and kindness.

Our Philosophy

We define recovery as “Any Positive Change,” determined by the individual. As a trusted, non-judgmental entry point for those seeking support, we meet people where they are. For some, this simply means providing resources and education to reduce risks, use substances more safely and prevent overdose, while for others, it involves stigma-free access to additional support services, treatment, healthcare, and wellness.

At Perfectly Flawed, we believe in multiple pathways to recovery, allowing individuals the freedom to choose  their own path to health and happiness. Whether it’s abstinence, support groups, medication, moderation management, reduced use, or harm reduction, all are valid forms of recovery those seeking change. While abstinence is a goal for many, it is never a requirement to receive our services or support.

We are currently able to offer our services at no-cost with the support of community supporters, individual

donations and grant-assistance.

Empowering people to pursue happiness, health and wellness on their own terms without shame or stigma.
